My sons knew from young age that their father, lied and cheated, and that I no longer loved their Father, although we stayed in same house. The truth is vital to me for everyone to lead authentic life. Now, for me the age was about 11 before they both understood the negative behaviors of their father, and they grew to have their own understanding over time and into their adulthood. They are 27, 20 now and are grateful that I was always honest about my life and that of their father's. Hiding who people are and their mistakes isn't intelligent in my opinion.
