Why Are More Women Opting out of Being Stuck by a Pencil?
Maybe they don't need to be poked to have a good time.
Big pencils. Little pencils. Curved pencils. Fat pencils. Skinny pencils. White pencils. Brown pencils. Purple pencils. Stubby pencils. Pretty pencils. Pretty-ugly pencils.
Now, I'm not here to debate the merits of one type of pencil over another - that's a conversation for another day. Today we're talking about how women and pencils have become intertwined in our culture.
Traditionally, women have been told that being tied to a pencil owner was the only way to validate their place in society. They’ve been conditioned to believe that they had little value without being a bobble on a pencil owner's arm.
Well, those days are thankfully behind us.
Today, more and more women are finding their voices, using their words, and languaging their desires.
Women no longer need someone else to define their success — they are redefining it for themselves. Women can choose the pencil owners they want (if any) and how they serve them instead of the other way around.
Pencil-free Pleasure
You should know that I am an advocate for pencil-free pleasure. Not because I find being stuck with a pencil icky (although some do).
I rather enjoy the sensation of being "stuck." And I suspect that other women feel the same way I do. But sometimes, I want something else.
Word on the streets is there are droves of women who have moved away from being stuck in favor of exploring other avenues of satisfaction.
To clarify, I’m talking about people who identify as women who find pencils and their owners attractive.
There are several reasons why someone might opt out of being stuck with a pencil, and while it's impossible to cover them all, for this discussion, let's talk about five of them.
1. Being stuck with a pencil can be messy.
Pencil sticking can get grimy. And for some, it's just not worth the hassle. Sometimes attempts to erase the mess (literally and figuratively) only make it worse, so it's understandable why one might forgo pencil-sticking encounters altogether.
2. Sometimes, the pencil owner lacks skills.
It may be uncomfortable to admit, but that doesn't make it less true. Sometimes the person doing the sticking isn't good at it. A certain skill level is required to be a high-quality pencil sticker, and few pencil owners invest time to grow said skills. Perhaps if you’ve found yourself in this position in the past, you choose not to go there.
3. Being poked doesn't guarantee pleasure.
It's a well-known fact that many women get very little (if any) gratification when they’re poked. Some even report needing to use different types of instruments to get the job done after the fact. So it's understandable why someone would choose to make before and after the main event instead.
4. Pencil plunging can lead to unwelcome consequences.
There are repercussions to getting sticky with a pencil — UTIs, STDs, BABYs, etc. And you know what they say about abstinence. Of course, you can always use a pencil in less evasive ways that reduce the risk of catching an acronym.
5. Being prodded by a pencil can be boring.
The process of being stuck with a pencil isn't exciting enough to keep some women interested. The lack of stimulus, or even surprise and anticipation, may cause them to throw up their hands. However, in some cases, being tickled instead of prodded allows for a more expansive scribbling experience. #ToThyOwnselfBeTrue
Nowadays, more women realize they don't need to be stuck, and there are other ways to express their creativity more freely. For example, drawing invisible rings on paper can be just as fulfilling. And if the urge strikes to draw with a pencil instead, women are free to do so without feeling confined.
So why get stuck with a pencil at all? For some, it may simply come down to tradition. For others, it's a choice. And for many, myself included, it just feels good... but sometimes, you just want something else. And that's okay.
Don't be afraid to explore other creative avenues. Why put a limit on feeling good?
