Most of the people I know beyond 40 get plagued by the used to’s.
We used to be all over each other. We used to be passionate. We used to have sex ALL the time. She used to look at me with lust in her eyes. He used to make me feel like I was the most beautiful woman in the world.
We convince ourselves that the past we remember is better than whatever is going on right now.
And maybe it was. But maybe it wasn’t.
Memories are unreliable.
Most of the time, we aren’t remembering what actually happened. We’re remembering the last time we remembered it.
The result? A smattering of truth, a heavy pour of nostalgia, and a story that probably has very little to do with what actually happened.
In this week’s episode, we’re talking about how we tend to romanticize the sex we used to have. And trust me, we’re not doing ourselves any favors.
